Abstract of the video lecture:

Motivation for parents and children: the secret of successful communication.

Most of us dentists have visions about our work, how we want to run our practice, motivate our dental team, deliver state-of-the-art dental care and master our profession.

Working hard every day, we may find it frustrating if our energy is not applied directly on our goal, especially in pediatric dentistry, with a complex situation in the relationship and interaction of children and parents!

Let’s consider the theory of motivation, psychological background and what mechanisms are behind human behavior patterns.

What drives or inhibits us? Knowledge of these underlying mechanisms of human behavior, classics like the Maslow pyramid of need or intrinsic motivation theories, allows us to effectively motivate our teams, parents and children.

Recent research takes the types and characteristics of personality (DISC-model) into consideration.

Practical examples, concrete tips and suggestions will be given.
